What I’m doing right now
A page to say, without beating around the bush, what I am working on these days. I update it whenever things change.
Work
- I keep working on hosting infrastructures and automation, as COO and infrastructure manager at a hosting company: Linux systems, virtualization, monitoring and everything that keeps client services running.
- Automations with n8n are more and more at the centre of my days: the daily CVE Digest published on this site every morning, the automatic import of my accounting into Firefly III, and the monitoring of activity and health data from Garmin.
Projects
- Homelab: a Proxmox server with a dedicated firewall (OPNsense), a Docker host full of services and Home Assistant for home automation. It is real infrastructure, a learning lab and my favourite playground at the same time.
- IT consulting: I am evaluating starting consulting as a side job, to build something of my own and manage my time. I haven’t started yet — you need clients, not just intention — but that is the direction. (I wrote about it here)
- This website: building, writing and automating, in Italian and English.
Recently closed
- The AI anomaly detection project (Suricata + Wazuh + machine learning): archived, because today there are ready-made and more mature tools. (see details here)
People and life
- Family first: whatever free time I can carve out is for them.
- I am also looking at other fields to explore, so as not to put all my eggs in one basket — I will write a dedicated article about it.
